Paul Vernimme
Paul can be characterized as an artist with an idea. His mainly graphical work can be labeled abstract and is technically outstanding. In his work beauty is obtained through perfection. His assemblies are very original and made with whatever material that is available at the moment of creation.
Marleen De Smet
Marleen is the driving force behind gallery M. One of her objectives is to promote via her gallery artwork from artists with roots in Mechelen. Her affinity with art started very early. After years of painting she felt the need for an extra challenge and started to create objects in glass. For her art is a total conception, a piece of art should never be seen as a stand-alone object. It must be an integral part of its environment and even interact with it. Glass objects with geometric forms in black and white or in harmonious colours alternating with abstract paintings in bright mixed colours are her trade-mark and make her work unique and readily identifiable.
Willy Van Eeckhout
Willy started his career as a painter in the sixties. First being an academic he preferred rapidly to abandon the figurative pathway in search for bright colours and new techniques mostly to obtain a certain rhythm in his paintings (drapeau paintings, jazzpaintings). Many of his paintings are very expressive and they need space to be fully appreciated.
Brice Heyndels
Brice’s intriguing personality is reflected in his paintings and drawings. Full of creativity there is always a mixture of a message, humour and sometimes even mockery. His work is very pictoral and his ultimate goal is to make the spectator happy what succeeds him well. Although his style is very unique and personal he certainly has certain affinities with Miro and Alechinsky.
Roger De Haes
If art becomes an obsession… Roger started his art career as a child making drawings. As an adult he started to make paintings and etchings. Nowadays he prefers to make sculptures mostly of the human figure and of horses sometimes even combining both. His sculptured work varies from subtile to very expressive and it always has a real impact on the spectator.
Jef Verbinnen
Jef explores the human body via drawing and watercolouring. His work is figurative and there is always in intensive mixture of bright colours to intensify the human forms.
Guido De Vos
Guido first started as a sculptor and gradually he expanded his activities to painting and photography. However the eye of the sculptor is never far away while he exploits every opportunity to express his artistic talents by using multiple materials and observing his favorite artists. The human figure as a symbol can always be found somewhere in most of his work.
